These
new rules are in vigor since 1. September 2004.
New (changed) Rules:
- Competition
in Open, Champion, Working Classes AND Intermediate Class had
been added
- Five (5)
entitlements (CAC's)
- at
last 3 entitlements at International or National Shows
- maximum
2 at speciality shows
- if 1
entitlement has been obtained either at the VDH-
Bundessieger-Zuchtschau [VDH Federal Winners Show] or
VDH-Europasieger- Zuchtschau [VDH Europe Winner Show] this will
count double, i.e. you will get 2 entitlements instead of one. If
you obtain the reserve-entitlement (CAC-Res.) this will count
there as 1 normal entitlement (CAC).
- At least
three different judges
- Minimum
timeframe of 12 months
- If a
dog has obtained entitlements before the 1. September 2004
the regulations who has been in force for several years continue
to be in force.
Another
new regulation concerning only the Chihuahua-Klub Deutschland
e.V. (CKD) is, that from September on it is possible to give EX also
in Youth-class. This has not been possible in the past, as e.g. the
world dog show in Dortmund, in the past the youth-class allowed only
to give very good not excellent, this was often a point of critic from
handlers of abroad.
Important
changes in German dog show regulations will enter in force from July 1st,
2004
From
the first of July 2004, there will enter into force several changes of dog
show regulations. There have also been alterations in the awarding
regulations of the titles of "Deutscher Champion (VDH)" [German
Champion (VDH)] and new titles have been added:
- Deutscher
Veteranen-Champion (VDH): [German Veteran-Champion (VDH)]
- Deutscher
Jugend-Champion (VDH): [German Youth Champion (VDH)].
The
possibility of entering the winning dog of a daily title such as FCI World
Winner or FCI European Winner to the champion class has been changed and
will enter into force from the first of July 2005.
Implementation
of an intermediate class
- Intermediate
class for dogs aged 15 to 24 months without any further requirements
- The
Intermediate class is mandatory for every International and National
Show from July 1, 2004
- At
International and National Shows, the entitlement for the title
Deutscher Champion (VDH) will be added to competition (one entitlement
for the open- , intermediate-, working- and champion-class)
- At
International and National Shows, the entitlement for the title
Deutscher Champion (Klub) can be added to competition in the
intermediate class
The
breed clubs can decide independently to introduce the intermediate class
as well to the date protected specialty shows. If there is an intermediate
class at a date protected specialty show the entitlement for the title
Deutscher Champion (VDH) will be placed to competition basically.
Introduction
of a veteran class at International and National Shows
The
veteran class was canceled several years ago for International and
National Shows. In its place, there was implemented a veteran competition
in the ring of honour. The intention for this decision was to appreciate
more the veterans and to show them to a wider audience in the ring of
honour. But it turned out that the handlers adopt this only on a very
limited basis. In fact, many handlers would prefer to show their veterans
in the breed ring (of their clubs). At specialty shows there will still be
the possibility to show veterans in the ring. There is no change in this
regard.
- There
is no change for specialty shows. The breed clubs decide independently
if there will be a veteran class or not.
- Concerning
the International and National Shows, a veteran class is mandatory
starting from the first of July 2004. (Until now there was only a
veteran competition at the ring of honour).
- Veteran
class for dogs from 8 years on without any further condition.
- There
is a veteran class for males and females.
- The
judging follows the standard. Particular attention should be paid on
the condition of these dogs.
- The
dogs do not get a marking, they are placed.
- From
the first placed male and the first placed female, the Best Veteran of
the Breed has to be determined.
- The
Best Veteran of the Breed does participate in the Best dog of the
Breed (BOB) competition.
- At
International Shows there is in addition to the veteran class a
veteran competition in the ring of honour. For the competition in the
ring of honour are participating all Best Veterans of the Breed. Thus,
for the competition of veterans in the ring of honour there is no
extra announcement, it is the beforehand in the separate rings
determined Best of Veterans of the Breed who do participate.
- Furthermore
there has been implemented the new title Deutscher Veteranen-Champion
(VDH) [German Veteran Champion (VDH)].
- Conditions
for the award of entitlements for the title Deutscher
Veteranen-Champion (VDH):
- The
entitlement is awarded to the first placed male and the first placed
female.
- The
second placed male and the second placed female do get the reserve
entitlement.
- The
title Deutscher Veteranen-Champion (VDH) is awarded if the following
criteria can be verified: at last 3 entitlements; without time
restriction; under at last two different judges
Implementation
of the new title Deutscher Jugend-Champion (VDH) [German Youth Champion (VDH)]
Conditions:
- The
title Deutscher Jugend-Champion (VDH) will be in competition from 1.
July 2004 on.
- The
award of the entitlement is only possible in the youth class at
International and National shows to the first placed male and the
first placed female in case the best possible value has been consided.
- For
the second placed male and the second placed female is awarded the
reserve entitlement, in case the male/female has obtained the best
possible value.
The
Title Deutscher Jugend-Champion (VDH) is awarded if
- At
last 3 entitlements
- Without
time restriction
- Under
at last 2 different judges can be verified.

The
daily titles FCI-Weltsieger, FCI-Europasieger, VDH-Bundessieger and
VDH-Europasieger
The
daily titles FCI-Weltsieger, FCI-Europasieger, VDH-Bundessieger and
VDH-Europasieger allow in Germany to enter the dogs in the champion class.
The Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) does see this rule in
contradiction to the FCI guidelines which they oppose vehemently and
pressed for a quick alteration of this rule.
- This
new rule does concern § 16 Nr. 6 VDH show directives and becomes
effective since January 1, 2005.
- The
title FCI-Weltsieger (World-Winner FCI) and the FCI-Europasieger (European
Winner FCI) does not allow anymore to enter the dog for the champion
class.
- The
title VDH-Bundessieger and VDH-Europasieger only entitles to enter the
dog for the champion class if it comes together with the entitlement
for the champion title of another show.
