Not
much chihuahua gossip in UK at the moment but in Ireland its another
story !
At the Chihuahua Club of Ireland Marie Thorpe handled Ch Bramerita Just
Heavenly "Kitty"
Nobody knew that Marie had this bitch in her care, not even the bitches
breeder, but as normal Marie handled and presented her dogs beautifully
and walked away with the prize of Best Bitch, when actually all the
exhibitors expected her to get Best Dog....!!!!
Well Done Marie.

Show results so far this year.
LONGCOATS
At Manchester
in January the judge was allrounder Annette Oliver.
Best of Breed was Mrs L Humphreys home bred AMARANTOS KIAM
a male.
This was a wonderful moment for the whole Humphreys family as it was
their little daughter just age 7 that handled Kiam.
The bitch CC went to Mr Farrugias Rozamar Princess Adora cum Cholas
bred by Mrs Ikin.
The Best puppy in bred went to Mrs J Frasers home bred Widogi Peep
show.
At Crufts in March the judge was specialist George Farmer
"Sangria" now more known for his top winning jap chins and
maltese, in the 70s and 80s Mr Farmer and his now sadly late partner
Bryan Bond where very active in the bred making up many longcoat and
smoothcoat champions.
Best of Breed and and later in the day Group 2 was Mr & MrsHornbys
home bred
CH BRAMERITA NAUGHTY BUT NICE (The breed CC record holder)
Dog CC was Mr Farrugias Ch Rozamar Prince Charming avec Cholas
bred by Mrs Ikin. The reserve CCs went to (male)Mr &MrsFootes Ch
Marclir Ivory at Ballybroke bred by Mrs Willis. The resv bitch was Mrs
Frasers Widogi Peep Show who was also Best Puppy.
The next Championship show was the United Kingdom Toy Dog our
judge for the day was Nick Farrugia a breed specialist and allways great
to give help and advice ( he works at the kennel club) So he knows
all the rules. Best of Breed went to Mrs Vickers AUDELS TIGER
LILLY bred by her and now waiting for the that Crowning third CC.
The male CC went to "a new one" this was the first CC for Mr
& Mrs TrantersYorone Sunshine over Tarradonna the breeder of this
dog is Steve Rooney whos partners affix is well known in Europe "Copymear"
The reserve CCs went to the male Mr&MrsFootesYoung Champion Deerus
Flashmoon at Ballybroke bred by Mrs Russell and the bitch was Mrs Jones,
Flikan Flirt who was also Best Puppy.
Scotland was the next port of call......The Scottish Chihuahua Club.The
judge for this time was Toy specialist Dr Andeas Schemmel. His Best of
Breed was Footes CH DEERUS FLASHMOON AT BALLYBROKE who also went
on to win Best in Show. The bitch CC was Mrs Bradys homebred Sylvies
Blondie her first CC .Best puppy in Breed again Mr &Mrs Footes
Homebred Ballybroke Magic Moments. Our Scottish Imports ( The Footes)
sure had a great day back home in Scotland.
The next show was The Midland Chihuahua Club Championship Show.
This was the clubs Ruby anniversary show and many goodies and prizes
where to be had.The Judge this time Was Paul Clements whom although no
longer active in the ring, is and has been a busy committee member of
this club for many many years. His Affix is Clemanchi.
The Best of Breed and later Best in Show under another specialist judge
..Jim Tranter was HornbysCH BRAMERITA NAUGHTY BUT NICE The
male CC went to Footes Ch Marclir Ivory at Ballybroke and the reserve
CCs to Male, Mrs Roberts Chersya Mr Edd and Frasers Widogi Peepshow.
Best Puppy was Hornbys home bred Bramerita Son of a Gun.
And
after the Midland Chi came The
Ulster Chihuahua Club Champ Show.
Todays judge Olga Frei-Denver a well known and very recognisable
character,a lady now in the autumn of her years looking absolutely
stunning in white 5 inch stiletto shoes and an outfit all of us
ladies would be proud to fit into , in her younger days she made many
appearances on television, stage and circus ring with her performing
Chihuahuas. She found her Best longcoat in Mrs Lees homebred RIDGEHAWK
SOFTBLUSKY her best dog in Heaps and Thorpes Ashakas Big Brothers
little brother, bred by Marie Thorpe, reserve CCs went to ,male
Stangoes Stanghurst Mr Motivate and McDevitts...... Best puppy in
Breed and later Best Puppy in Show Hornbys Bramerita Little Billy.
Now at the British Chihuahua Club Open Show. Judge allrounder Maggie
Bunce, she found her Best of Breed in Mrs Lunneys Diella Drama Queen and
Best Puppy Hornbys Bramerita Little Billy. These both later beat the
smoothcoats for Best in Show and Best Puppy in Show.
At The National Show at Stafford it was all different again this show
was judged by Mr Gilbert Grevett (Tarina) for any of you with good
memories or over 35 years old, The Grevetts bred the famous Rozavel
Tarina Song, pet name squirrel and owned by the late Thelma Grey she was
a" real star" Reserve Best in Show at Crufts the only longcoat
chihuahua to achieve such a high accolade.His choice for Best of Breed
was Footes CH DEERUS FLASHMOON at Ballybroke who was also
Group 3. The bitch CC went Mrs Scottows Scotma Purdy she was home bred
and is now sitting on 2 CCs, the reserves male was Ch Peregrine JP Go My
Way and import whom is currently being handled by Aimmee Davies of the
Dachidas kennel, the bitch was Sorfleets Mardegrae Merry Go Round. Best
Puppy in Breed Hornbys Bramerita Son of a Gun.
