Reverse Sneezing

This
is pretty much a Chihuahua thing. It sounds very much like a honking noise and
can be scary to see. The Chihuahua will act like it is gasping for air by
stretching his/her neck out. You can see their sides going in and out as their
draw in air, and often their eyes will be wide open looking at you. This is
really a harmless problem and also easy to remedy. Some people simply pick their
dog up and gently blow into the nose. Others gently put a finger across the
nostrils forcing the dog to breathe through its mouth. Others simply rub the
throat area.
Chihuahuas
seem to do this most often when eating/drinking too fast, or when they are very
excited, such as when they are greeting you after a day at work or away..
It is best not to pay too much attention on this condition, otherwise can
your lovely, dear Chihuahua can use reverse sneezing against you, to get even
more attention.
As soon as the episode is over, the Chihuahua is once again back to
normal and you have a few more gray hairs on your head.
