Tuula Lehtinen-Cochetti
I started to breed Chihuahuas in Finland year 1984, when my first Chihuahua got puppies. I had already studied alot about breeding and Chihuahua pedigrees, but I must admit I was lucky as the first litter consisted of 2 bitches who both became later champions.
The one I left home, FIN & S CH Misty Meadow's First Fiancée, I could say was my foundation bitch. I bought then a male (Multi CH Apocodeodar Billy Brag) and a bitch (CH Apocodeodar Heavenly Music) from Bill & Sylvia Stevenson, "Apocodeodar" , England. I am so grateful to them as I got the type I still value and treasure.
With these 3 wonderful Chihuahuas and some outside matings I created "my" line. I have after that bought from abroad some "new blood" from Yeosinga and Widogi both in England . I have had also successful co-operation abroad with other breeders for to get outcross matings.

Year 1996 was a BIG year of changes for me. I got married and moved to Italy. My husband, Francesco Cochetti, I ofcourse met in a dogshow as he is in dogs too. He is born in a "dog family" as his father was a judge and mother bred Dwarf Poodles. I was so lucky as Francesco fell in love with also(?) with the Chihuahuas!! Now infact he has bred some litters of Chihuahuas under his prefix "di San Gimignano" and is the president of Rome Kennel Club. He is a FCI judge (all of 9.and 4. group and some of the 3. group, see more www.disangimignano.com) and needless to say he loves to judge Chihuahuas!

Year 1997 was born our first daughter Sofia, who is already a big help (?) in taking care of the dogs. Year 2000 was born our second daughter Sara.

I breed for the love for Chihuahuas! Every litter I make I for to try to improve the breed. I don't breed for the petshops nor do I sell to puppymills. My dogs have official vet-certificates for the stifles (patella luxation) and some also for the eyes (PRA). No PRA case has been found from my dogs!

Year 2007, it's time to write a little bit more about us, especially after have bred 150 Champions during these last years. In 2006, I had the honour to have my first Chihuahua English Champion. His name is CH Misty Meadow's Donald Duck!

Our dogs live in the countryside in fresh air and get alot of personal attention. They are used to children, but we don't recommend them to families with small children!
